O Be Joyful

O Be Joyful

Well it is one of the most well know creeks in CO and for good reason. O be Joyful offers water falls slides and even a couple stompy holes if you are not paying attention. I manage to get my yearly trip in a week or so ago, check out some head cam footage.

Fibark

Fibark

Check out some entertainment from Fibark, one of the biggest boating festivals any where.

Chris Baer, making my way through the big wave, thanks Leif Anderson for the shot, I so wish I had an awesome mullet like his.
We kayak raced through number Four in the numbers and then Rodeo'd it up in Salida.

Teva Games

Teva Games

Teva Games in Vail CO always goes off huge, this year was no exception. It all starts off with the Homestake race, a rather nasty course with a stacked field of competitors.

Bryan Kirk making his way through the course
Another racer dropping into the maul
Jacub Nemec wheeling to a second place finish
Isaac Levinson charging to the bottom to be the first place US finisher
another boater charging through the steeps
Airborn Athletics showing off the airborn
Check out the quick edit of my race run

Next up was the boater cross events, both raft and kayak head to head fights to the finish.
whoops that doesn't look like the fast line

pushing the vertical limit
too many boats in the hole?
retrieving a boat stuck in the hydrolic
some of the boats had to be recovered from the hole, this guy had an interesting idea on how to get them out
The kayak race contained almost as much action. The added bonus to the kayak portion is the 8 Ballers, a group of kayakers devoted to crashing the racers off line and over all creating mayhem.

That has got to hurt
A fair amount of chaos

Bakers Box

Bakers Box

Early this spring I went down to help out the Four Corners guys with there big preseason swap. Well, it wasn't preseason for all of us, I got a guided tour through one of the most containing canyons any where. It also has some amazingly ruff access issues, the sign on the private property that you walk across for a mile or so reads, Trespassers will be shot and survivors will be shot again.
